A story about luck, coincidence and superstition and how one man's fortune, good and bad, affected the life of another.

This story is just brilliant! The way it addresses the idea of cause and effect, and consequences of actions, is clever and engaging. The way the themes are all pulled together at the end, all tied in to the penny in the title, is very satisfying. It reminded me in some ways of the old Ealing Studio films, which again we’re so clever and polished. I’m thinking of films like the Ladykillers with Alec Guinness- simple, smart, engaging. The writing, grammar, syntax- flawless. Highly recommend.

What a delightful story! Plenty of pace and I loved the way that the coincidences just naturally rolled on from each other.

An engaging story with a heartwarming twist at the end. I really enjoyed reading this.
