Will just put this in points to keep it concise: - Why is this character a bog brush? It didn't seem to have any relevance to the story. I was waiting for this to somehow be able to help him in his rescue attempt. Is there a prior book that explains his origins? Think of the Mr Men, we always begin with who they are and why they are the way they are. - I got a bit of a Beano/comic book vibe from this story and because of the level of the language, concepts and illustration, I thought it was aimed at and would certainly be better targeted towards older children. They tend not to read picture books. It could be worth thinking about the target market. Be clear about who you are aiming this at as many schools would not pick this up for younger children. - Use of 'coz.' Language is very important for children and this isn't a word you would usually see in books for younger children as correct spellings are prioritised so that they can familiarise themselves with new words. - I didn't think the story was very engaging and it is confusing because it seems to be for older children yet the content, structure and narrative arch seems to be squarely aimed at little children. - I wasn't over enamoured with this character. Kids love toilet humour, but it lacked humour and sped by too quickly. Summary - a longer format, changing to an old age group, thinking about comic book style etc would improve this character's impact and his world. I don't think this current format has the space for him to grow as he should.
