Incongruous humour is what floats my boat and I wanted to enjoy this. However, for me, there were far too many characters for a short story and it was too frenetically paced to allow it to develop in the reader's mind. Modern life certainly needs satirising but I think the satire here was only skin deep. If it had concentrated on just one main character and storyline, then I think it would have had more legs.

I have satirised modern life, or a least some of its obsesessions, by parodying two fairy stories. To do so I have taken the well known characters and story lines and put them in a contemporary setting. Those characters and storylines need to be there for it to work. I haven't set out to write some deep meaningful tome, just to have a bit of fun.
